The David Umahi Federal University Teaching Hospital (DUFUTH) played host to a familiarization visit by the Ebonyi State Internal Revenue Services on August 22, 2024.

The visit aimed to acquaint the revenue officials with the institution, profile DUFUTH staff, and issue tax cards to facilitate dealings with the revenue services.

Professor Uzoma Agwu, Chief Medical Director (CMD) of DUFUTH, expressed delight at the visit, emphasizing the importance of tax payment and encouraging all staff to participate in the exercise.

She noted that the Ebonyi State Government, led by Governor Francis Nwifuru, has been supportive of the institution's welfare.

Mr. Irem Sylvester Nwachukwu, team leader of the Ebonyi State Internal Revenue Services, explained that the profiling exercise seeks to create a harmonized staff list, minimize interferences, and foster partnership with the institution.

The Head of Audit and Compliance clarified that a monthly development levy of ₦200 is payable, with the option to pay annually.

He also highlighted that the internal revenue services are fully automated.

The meeting was attended by top officials from DUFUTH and the Ebonyi State Internal Revenue Services.
