Seventeen National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members, the first batch posted to serve at David Umahi Federal University Teaching Hospital, today paid a farewell visit to the Chief Medical Director, Prof. Uzoma Agwu, to express their gratitude for her care and support during their service year.
The corps members, led by Salami Oluwasheun, a nurse from Osun State, praised Prof. Agwu for making them feel comfortable and welcome, despite initial fears of the unknown.
They appreciated her motherly love, care, and protection, which made their service year a memorable one.
Prof. Agwu charged the corps members to utilize their experience gained at DUFUTH to impact their respective communities.
She encouraged them to maintain good character, show commitment, and be diligent in their future endeavors.
The Chief Medical Director also requested that the management keep records of the corps members' performance to identify the best-performing members at the end of their service year, and prayed for God's blessings upon them always.
The corps members, who served in various departments such as Pharmacy, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Radiology, Psychiatry, Food and Dietetics, and Nursing Services, presented Prof. Agwu with a framed picture and pillows as a token of appreciation.
The NYSC members hailed from different states, including Ogun, Enugu, Akwa-Ibom, Anambra, Kogi, Edo, and Ebonyi.
